Hi, I’m Madison, a.k.a. Maddog.

I followed my dream of moving to British Columbia and creating art.

More specifically, I am based in the Sea to Sky, I make oil paintings and I love being apart of this artist community. Some events where you may have seen me: The Squamish Art walk, live painting with Grateful Shred, the Sea to Sky Gondola, ‘Birds and Words’ Installation, and my personal favourite, Paint and Sip nights at Wine and Brew and Geo Cider.

I mostly work with oil paint, I love the way it holds its texture, works slowly on the canvas, and portrays such rich, natural colours. I would describe my style to be contemporary, with a focus on local landscapes and native animals. When I teach paint nights, I supply all my students with acrylic paints as its much more forgivable for beginners and I try to focus on keeping my classes fun, easy to follow and rewarding. The opportunity to teach art has been such a great experience, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world (watching my students admire their work after a 3 hour session, in awe of what they created will never get old). Check out my ‘Events’ tab if you are interested in a night out of fun, wine drinking and creating with me.

Most of the year you can find me on my mountain bike, gravel biking, doing yoga or swimming for hours on end. The winter months, I’m strapped into my snowboard as much as possible, chasing powder in the backcountry. When I’m not distracted by my full time job, or my (too many) hobbies, I find myself in front of my easel, where I can take a deep breath and paint what’s on my mind.
